Implementation of priority positions of Turkmenistan at the 71st session of the UN General Assembly in action

As is known from the start of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Turkmenistan made a number of priority proposals aimed at promoting peace and stability, the goals and targets for sustainable development.

One of the main goals of the priorities of the Turkmen position is a humanitarian direction. Turkmenistan steadily increasing pace of social development, continue multifaceted efforts to ensure human rights and freedoms arising from the fundamental Conventions and other multilateral UN international acts, expressing readiness to actively participate in the implementation of practical actions in the humanitarian field.

The last clear evidence of the practical realization of the declared items from the UN podium is the adoption at the government level in October this year, the Action Plan to ensure the full realization of the rights of the disabled in employment and occupation for the years 2017-2020.

Turkmenistan on the constitutional basis declared the human being as the main value of the society. Head of State approved a new policy document on employment of persons with disabilities which is aimed at socio-labor rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, the realization of their creative possibilities. This plan included the task of ensuring the rights of disabled people in the field of health protection, education, social security, business, etc. The process of implementation of this document in Turkmenistan is being implemented on the basis of national priorities. Thus, Turkmenistan reaffirms its commitment to full compliance with international obligations in the field of human rights.
