DURING ITS CHAIRMANSHIP IN ECO, TURKMENISTAN AIMS TO WORK ACTIVELY ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ECONOMIC ROUTES

At the 14th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization that took place on 4 March 2021, the heads of states and governments of the Member States expressed their vision of the ECO work and discussed the proposals on its further development.

In his speech, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov voiced the priorities of the country in the framework of its chairmanship in ECO in the current year. 

He made special emphasis on further intensification of trade-economic relations between the countries of the given format which is aimed at the increase of the volume and diversification of trade turnover.  “For this reason, Turkmenistan proposes to start the work on the establishment of economic routes in the ECO region that we consider as the main stable system facilitating the movement of goods and services, adapting the investments,” underlined President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

In this regard, the head of state highlighted the importance of industrial cooperation, consolidation of production and technological potential, implementation of major joint infrastructural projects.
