THE IMPORTANCE OF THE INITIATIVE OF THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN “DIALOGUE – A GUARANTEE OF PEACE” WAS EMPHASIZED ON THE PLATFORM OF THE “INDIA - CENTRAL ASIA” DIALOGUE MEETING
On December 19, 2021, the 3rd meeting of the “India - Central Asia” Dialogue was held in the capital of India, New Delhi.
In his address at the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov noted the need to further improve the functioning of the “India - Central Asia” Dialogue.
In particular, a number of specific proposals were made aimed at creating a solid institutional basis for a new format of political interaction between the Central Asian countries and India.
In this context, the need for practical implementation of specific proposals made at the International Conference “Peace and Trust Policy – Basis of International Security, Stability and Development” held in Ashgabat on December 11, 2021 was emphasized.
In this regard, the importance of the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan to form a new philosophy of modern international relations, called “Dialogue - a guarantee of peace”, was emphasized.
The head of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan also drew attention to the relevance of the ongoing economic projects designed to strengthen the interconnectedness between the Central Asian region and India, among which the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline (TAPI) occupies a special place.
Following the results of the 3rd meeting of the “India - Central Asia” Dialogue, a Joint Statement was adopted in which the above provisions were reflected.
